Rich has been a PCVRC member since the early 2000s and has been an asset to the club in several capacities. As one of the leaders of the “Rebel Runners”, he participated in races of all distances including marathons. This included destination races throughout the USA and even marathons in Europe.
For several years, Rich held the position of our USATF team coordinator. He recruited for the team and club, as well as arranging carpools to make it easier for members to participate, providing exceptional motivation to all involved. He made sure that we fielded a team for every race possible in both the Grand Prix and Off-Road Series.
Rich hosted (and paid for) a summer social event for several years which raised money for charity. In addition, he set up our Delaware Marathon Festival after-party area.
For a couple years, he spearheaded our Adopt A Highway litter removal program for a stretch of road in Hockessin.
His wedding to fellow club member Trish happened at Delcastle Recreation Area during a group run!
While running a bit less in recent years, Rich remains quite active with skiing and biking.
