PCVRC Board of Officers
We are pleased to announce that the club’s slate of proposed officers for 2015 were ratified by a quorum of the club members who were in attendance at the April 15, 2015 Boston Marathon sendoff party. Interim President Joel Schiller confirmed that no external nominations for club officers had been received by the Board and he proposed that external nominations for club officers be officially closed.
He then proposed that the Board’s recommended slate of club officers for 2015, determined at the Board meeting of January 25, 2015, be ratified by those club members in attendance. Lori Culnane seconded the motions and the motions passed without dissention.
Therefore, we are pleased to announce the following club officers for 2015:
President Stacey Schiller
Vice President Gerry Herman
Secretary Dirk Sweigart
Treasurer Lenora Wagner
All club members are reminded that Board meetings of the club are open meetings and you are encouraged to participate. If you wish to attend please contact any board member. The 2015 calendar of club meetings will be published in a future e-bulletin.

Couch-to-5k Spring Session
We continue to have good turnout, especially for returning participants!
The Newark Reservoir (map) is on Old Paper Mill Road, just east of Paper Mill Road and just north of Timothy’s (where the Christmas party was held). If you missed the first session you’re still more than welcome to come out and walk or run! See you there!
Delaware Marathon Volunteers
From Sue DeNardo:
This year we have been working on a website to make the Delaware Marathon volunteer sign-up process easier for you (and your team). It is now live, so please take a look and, if you are a group captain, encourage your volunteers to do the same. Here are a few tips to help you out:
The website link is dmrf.ivolunteer.com
Saturday packet pickup, water stops, and several of the course marshal spots are broken into shifts. If you plan on covering that spot all day, please register for both shifts.
For course marshals, the spots that are critical are listed separately so that we can make sure they are filled. All other spots are listed under an “unassigned” section that will be assigned as we get closer to race day. When registering for an unassigned spot, you may request a specific location. If you have questions about a preferred location, please email me.
Once signed up, the volunteer will receive a confirmation email to which he/she will need to respond. Once that step is completed, the slot assignment is secured.
Please have everyone in your group register through this website. It will enable us to communicate via email regarding parking, updates, etc.
Questions? Please contact me at or 302-690-9345. Please let us know of any glitches, suggestions, unclear information, etc as you go through the process. And please, encourage others to volunteer.
Thanks so much. We couldn’t do it without you!!

Healthy Kids Running Series
From Jamie Graham:
Pike Creek Valley Running Club Members Jamie Graham and Kelly Jones are in need of volunteers for their Healthy Kids Running Series. The Healthy Kids Running Series is a 5 week running program for children Pre-K through Middle School. We run races according to age groups: Pre-k = 50 yard dash, K & 1st = ¼ mile, 2nd & 3rd = ½ mile, 4th and 5th grade/Middle School = mile.
These races are set up like a cross country course around the perimeter of the school fields. We are looking for helpers in the finish chute to keep our Pre-K kids from getting out of line, course marshals, and stretching leaders. All the races are over within the hour. Parents can sign up race day or online. Dates: April 12th, April 19th, 26th, May 3rd, & May 17th.
Jamie’s in Wilmington: Springer Middle School (Shipley Rd.) Sundays at 4pm-5pm. Volunteers are to arrive at 3:30pm.
Kelly’s in Hockessin: North Star Elementary Sundays at 2pm-3pm. Volunteers to arrive at 1:30pm.
Please contact Jamie () or Kelly () if you are able to help.
Thank you!
