Caesar Rodney Half, TNT, Lights at Delcastle
Runners needed for CR teams (discounted registration!)
Caesar Rodney Half is 9:30am, 3/15. The Rebel Runners need a couple more people to run on teams, so if you haven't yet registered and would like to pay $32.50 or $37.50. instead of the regular $40, email Webmaster Ray by 2/21 at ray@attractweb.com.
First come, first served. He'll get your confirmation within a couple days to let you know, in case you have to register yourself. Another team benefit is the chance for a medal, but speed is NOT essential. Ray will register you if you are part of a team.
Team in Training: Fight Leukemia
Chris James has participated in a committee working to improve the CR experience and reports that there will be a decent medal for finishers this year. The Tee-shirt design is different this year, but looks nice. It will be an ash-gray long-sleeve with a red/black design of runners running past the statue in Rodney
Square. Chris also reports that volunteering opportunities are available for packet stuffing on March 11th or packet pickup at Delaware Running Company on Friday and Saturday. Contact him or go to http://www.mrsnv.com/evt/home.jsp?id=2308.
Chris will also be running San Diego RNR Marathon with Team in Training (TNT) to raise money to fight Leukemia. You can help him reach his fundraising goal at http://pages.teamintraining.org/de/rnr09/cjameslbzs
PCVRC has partnered with TNT. Kevin Welch the TNT Wilmington Chapter coordinator writes:
For the summer, we are doing the Long Branch (Jersey Shore) Half Marathon, and the two Rock 'N' Roll marathons in San Diego and Seattle. The next season (Fall) we will be doing the Philly Distance Run, Rock 'N' Roll San Antonio, and the Nike Women's Marathon in San Francisco. PCVRC members can register with TNT
for free. More info at www.teamintraining.org/de.
Lights are still not working at Delcastle Rec Area, so if you run there in darkness, carry a flashlight! You are ALWAYS welcome at our Wednesday 6 p m group runs.
