2009 Club Dues: Membership Renewal
A wonderful Happy New Year to all members of Pike Creek Valley Running Club! Here's hoping that 2009 finds you meeting your running goals.
It's that time again to renew your PCVRC dues. We are already off to a good start as a number of the USATF participants had their dues waived because of the winnings the club earned in the two series. A number of other people renewed at our holiday party, which had the largest turnout (approx. 45-50) in years. Remember that for insurance purposes, the club needs the signature of "the primary family member" each year. Mail the form to the club's new mailing address: PCVRC, P.O. Box 3259, Wilmington, DE 19808.
The club is now seeking nominations for club officers and for awards to be given at the annual awards banquet and election of officers.
Send your nominations to Jerry Herman, gerald.herman@verizon.net. Please include information on 2008 accomplishments for running awards. People may self-nominate for club officers. The four elected positions are President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary. To encourage participation in maintaining the club, the board approved the use of club funds(up to $10 per person) to pay for food at each board meeting. Last. year the board met eight times. The board is also seeking to appoint at-large members to the board if you are interested in participating.
Mid-Atlantic USATF Awards Luncheon info
Here's some information concerning Mid-Atlantic USATF from Ed Maher. Remember that membership runs from the beginning to the end of the year, so if you only had a one year membership, now is the time to renew.
Please note: your age group is fixed as of the first event you finish in the year, though your age grading is based on your actual age as of the date of the race.
We will continue to have a Mid-Atlantic table at Grand prix events in 2009 to keep you informed about circuit standings, to enable purchasing athlete memberships in USATF, and to answer questions about the Grand Prix or Mid-Atlantic Association. Remember: you will receive an award if you are in the top 10 Age-Graded, have your name line in bold face in the age group scoring results (GP08AgrGrpScore) or were a participant finishing at least 7 races. The South Jersey Athletic Club, Runaway Success, Pike Creek Valley Running Club, Greater Philadelphia Track Club, Pineland Striders and Rosemont Running Club will receive cash awards for the Club Challenge.
