Half-Wit Half-Marathon, McCorq's update
Half-Wit Half-Marathon 8/17 results
Congratulations to the ten member team of PCVRC runners who completed the Half-Wit Half-Marathon on Sunday, August 17 near Reading. When a young 2:50 marathoner(Austin) can't even run an eight minute pace, you know the course is tough! Note that John Schultz, who won his age-group, was the club's third highest age-graded participant. With this effort, Pike Creek Valley Running club increased it hold on second place over the Pineland Striders by 153 points. Rosemont Running Club has a lead in first place by hundred points.
This Sunday the USATF Road Series resumes with the Stone Harbor 10K.

McCorq's Fun Run is coming up Aug. 28
Reminder: McCorq's Fun Run is coming up Aug. 28. We'd still like to hear from participants about their best 5K times, prizes they'd like to contribute, any food or beverage requests or dietary restrictions. The menu will be mainly pizza, salad with homegrown tomatoes, dessert.
Another course change! McCorq has decided to start the race a block down the street. Runners will be going up the same street toward Delcastle that they have used to come down at the end of the race. This won't change the option of going in either direction at Delcastle, but it will eliminate having to deal with any neighbor at the beginning. Cheerleaders extraordinaire, Margie Hughes and family, who always direct traffic on the corner where the race will start, have offered use of the powder room facilities at their house a couple doors from the corner for those racers who are getting nervous before their starts.
