N. Marks at Kennett Square 10K, Margie Hughes 100 Miler
Members of Pike Creek Valley Running Club had some notable running achievements over the weekend.
Nadine Marks was 2nd overall female in the Kennett Square 10K with a time of 41:16.
Margie Hughes, who recently received an outstanding achievement award by the club for her ultramarathoning prowess,completed the Massanutten Mountain Trail 100 Miler at george Washington National Forest in Virginia in 32:52:37. Yes, folks, that's all day, evening and night and most of the next day! Get some sleep, Margie!
Delaware Marathon, 10 Miler and Marathon Relay results
Then there were all the participants and volunteers at the Delaware Marathon, 10 Miler and Marathon Relay.
First, we extend our thanks to club members, Joel Schiller, the race director, and Wayne and Barbara Kursh, for race management. They have led the way again in putting on a first-class race and doing the Delaware Running Community proud.
All participants have the distinction of being in the same race with two former Olympians from Delaware(Vicki-Huber Rudawsky and Vic Zwolak), who both ran on relay teams, and a possible future Olympian, Jorge Real, who was the marathon winner and who aspires to run the marathon in Bejiing for Columbia.
The following members ran the marathon. Most notable was young Austin Gee, a new club member, running his first marathon. He finished sixth overall, won the mens 20-24 age-group and was the first Delaware finisher.
