Caesar Rodney Half Marathon results
The Caesar Rodney Half Marathon was held yesterday amidst windy, cold condtions. A record 1,444 people signed up and 1,220 completed the course. Pike Creek Valley R.C. had a great turnout of 29 people, including 17 who participated in the race as USATF members for the Grand Prix series. It bodes well that six of the USATF participants were women, including three of the five who accumulated the team's total score of 370+. Overall PCVRC placed 5th of seven complete club teams. South Jersey AC leads, but the next four teams are all within nine points of each other.
The next race in the USATF series in the Adrenaline 5K in Haddonfield, N.J. on Saturday, March 15. Not much recorvery time from a half marathon, but for those who are interested, check the website: http://www.mausatf.org/

Team in Training partnership and website updates
Don't forget to check out the club's website at www.pcvrc.com. Webmaster Ray Christensen keeps posting changes. The newest additions are:
1. Especially for policy wonks and insomniacs, the newly revised club bylaws, finally updated after 25 years!
2. A new link to Team In Training. Several board members recently had a discussion with the local organizers of their marathon training groups. It was decided it would be mutually beneficial to link with TNT. The club can publicize this way to train for a first-time marathon and direct people who are looking for a way to motivate themselves to TNT's site. In return TNT will tell itself alumni from the fundraising marathons about PCVRC. Apparently many of them are looking for people to run with now that they've finished their first marathon.
PCVRC continues to hold weekly evening runs at 6 p.m. on Wednesday at Delcastle Recreation Center, starting at the upper parking lot. Perhaps more can participate now that we will be running in daylight.
