Predicting Calculator

Back to Calculators List

Estimate how long it will take to run a specified distance, based on a previous race result.

This type of predictive analysis is more accurate when the two distances are relatively similar (e.g. 5K and 10K), since runners can not be optimally trained for this entire spectrum of distances from 1 mile to the marathon.

1. Enter the distance of a previous race in the "Distance Run" category.
2. Then enter the time for that race in the input boxes on the right. Leave all "Pace" fields blank.
3. Enter a different distance in the "New Distance" category and press "Calculate".

Non-Metric: Enter all distances in miles. Pace is calculated in minutes/mile.
